Carmen and Joe travelled from the midwest to merge their love of running with their love for each other, mid-span for their Golden Gate Bridge elopement. What does it take, you may ask, to organize a Golden Gate Bridge elopement? A little planning, some permits, and a bit of athleticism! The plan was to begin running from opposite sides, meeting up under the first tower where they have more of a platform than just the sidewalk, and meet their officiant. At 1.7 miles in length, it’s a bit longer than your typical wedding aisle but they bridged the gap between them (pun only partially intended) in relatively good time!
San Francisco elopements can come in many different shapes and colors but exchanging nuptials literally over San Francisco bay is so unique. The meeting point was shrouded in summertime fog but after the ceremony, we continued on to the Marin side as the clouds all at once began to vaporize around us. The cove at Fort Baker provided shelter and brilliant colors off the water for the last of our photos with these two before we said our goodbyes and returned them to their hotel back in the city.
