A Napa Hotel Wedding Ceremony in the Garden Nook

They married in the inn's Garden Nook, a tucked-away corner of the back garden, with their six closest friends and family in the chairs. David waited as Janice came in to an instrumental version of "All of Me." Rose Barboza officiated, and kept it as straightforward as the couple had asked, vows, rings, and the two of them at the center of it.

They walked back out to Etta James' "At Last," and the day moved straight into the part they'd been looking forward to most.

The Garden Nook suited a 6-guest Napa hotel wedding exactly: enclosed enough to feel close, the inn's back garden around it, chairs on either side of the couple with the whole group within reach of each other. No blank ballroom space to fill, no performance required, a ceremony built for the size they'd chosen, in a corner that didn't pretend to be bigger than it was.

Champagne and a 6-Guest Napa Hotel Wedding

A champagne toast opened right after the ceremony, led by a friend from each side, glasses raised in the garden while the charcuterie from Chef Jessica Brunelli came out. With six guests, every moment landed close, no one was at the far end of a room, and there was no waiting.

While their guests ate and drank, Janice and David slipped off for portraits around the property. Their photos ran from the inn's Italian chandeliers and large-scale artwork out into downtown, ending down by the Napa waterfront.

Dinner, Sunset, and Cake by the River

Dinner was a seated meal in the inn's small dining room, the chef's cooking, the couple's own wine, the whole table close enough to talk across. As the light started to go, Janice and David stepped out for sunset photos along the waterfront.

Back at the inn, they cut a lemon cake from Criminal Baking and poured one more round of champagne, then took the night to a local bar nearby. Small, modern, and exactly what they'd planned.

The modern Napa elopement they built fit R Inn Napa's own character: design-forward and unhurried, the dining room that seats ten holding the six of them without any of the emptiness a larger space would carry.
