Portraits on the Carmel Coast Cliffs

After the first dance they stayed on the bluff for couple portraits and family photos while the light dropped toward the water. Wedding Rock connects to the Carmel Meadows trail above Carmel River State Beach, so the cypress, the bluff edge, and the long view toward Point Lobos framed every grouping, the reason couples drive out to this stretch of coast to marry.

With a group this size the portraits were unhurried. Everyone who had come was right there, a few steps away, for each frame.

Dinner at Alejandro's Restaurant

From the coast, the group drove back into town for dinner at Alejandro's Restaurant, in a private room reserved just for them. The tables were set with the couple's own touches, filled vases, name cards, shot glasses at the adult seats, and coloring books at the children's. Fernanda and Adam gave a brief thank-you to the room before dinner was served.

After the meal came the cake, a Sweet Reba's cake finished with the couple's own flowers, cut on their own cake stand. It was the close of a day built around the people and the details that were theirs, from the movie scores on the bluff to the private room set aside just for them.
