Jana and Carter's intimate Carmel wedding at Tehama Golf Club was a nine-guest minimony in January 2021, a ceremony on the ridge above Carmel Valley, then a first dance and dinner at a family home a few minutes down the road. Small on purpose, and put together in under a month.
The day ran in a tight, close order: Jana's first look with her parents, vows at the club with Carter's family gathered close, charcuterie plates carried back to the house, and a first dance the moment they walked in the door.
The morning was for setup and getting ready. Fleurs du Soleil's florals arrived early and were kept in the shade until it was time, the rentals were in place, and both the club and the family home were dressed before anyone needed to be anywhere.
Jana got into her dress in the suite at Tehama. Before the ceremony, she had a first look with her parents right there in the room, just the three of them, ahead of the guests arriving. Carter reached the property with his own parents around the same time. Tehama's clubhouse sits on the northern ridge above Carmel Valley, and on a January morning the views from the property carry out across the rolling hills toward the coast, a quiet, unhurried start to a day that was meant to be both.

A nine-guest Carmel minimony at a golf club on the ridge has a particular intimacy, the kind of small where you can hear everyone who came, close, with no row too far from the front. There was a sand ceremony, Jana and Carter pouring two streams together in front of the small circle of family who had made the trip.
When it was over, they stayed for photos with Carter's family at the club before the group headed back to the house. Everyone left with a charcuterie plate in hand for the short drive down the hill.
“In less than a month they put together a wonderful ceremony and small dinner reception for our family.”
Tehama sits on the northern ridge of Carmel Valley, its course laid across rolling hillsides with the coast in the distance. Family portraits moved through the club's grounds while everyone settled in before the drive down to the house, the hills doing most of the visual work without anyone having to arrange much.
With nine guests, no one was far from the frame. Carmel Valley below, the Pacific ridge visible on a clear January day, and the course itself running out through the hillside oaks. Tehama is a private club, and getting family portraits there feels different from a public park. The quiet is earned.
Jana and Carter arrived at the family home and walked straight into their first dance, the nine of them making a room of it. A parent dance followed, and then the day slowed down, apps and drinks, time to just sit with the people who had come.
Photos with Jana's family came next, then toasts around the table. The two of them slipped out for a few sunset pictures before dinner was served, and the small dinner reception carried the evening the rest of the way.
“Our Little Wedding was an excellent choice in helping us plan our minimony; it wouldn't have been as well done without them. In less than a month Jaime and Dennis put together a wonderful ceremony and small dinner reception for our family. Jaime was diligent, responsive, and thoughtful and Dennis managed to capture the love and sentiment of the day perfectly. Highly recommend the team from Our Little Wedding for your wedding planning needs!”
