Stephanie and Dan's San Francisco micro wedding paired a garden ceremony in Golden Gate Park with a Park Chalet reception on the edge of Ocean Beach, in November 2024. The morning was for getting ready; the day ended with a live band and the coast just outside the windows.
Vows first at the glass conservatory, then dinner and dancing at the sand-colored western edge of the park, all within a few blocks of each other.
Family photos and couple portraits came after the ceremony, out toward the western end of Golden Gate Park where it meets Ocean Beach. That corner of the park holds the Beach Chalet, a 1925 building whose lobby is lined with Lucien Labaudt's 1930s WPA frescoes of San Francisco life, Fisherman's Wharf, Baker's Beach, the park itself, painted across all four walls. The Park Chalet, where the reception waited, sits at the back of that same building, opening onto the lawn and the coast.
The photographer worked through the family groupings and the two of them before they headed in for the evening.
