Derrick and Rocky's same-sex micro wedding in the Russian River Valley took place at The Stavrand in Guerneville in April 2025, two grooms marrying on a six-acre Spanish Revival estate tucked into the Sonoma redwoods. The property gave them the full arc of a weekend, small enough to feel entirely theirs.
The morning was getting ready on the estate while the grounds came together around them. The ceremony was among the trees. After the vows came portraits through the orchards and gardens, then a long evening of dinner, toasts, and a live band playing into the night.
The ceremony was outdoors among the trees, the Sonoma redwoods rising behind the altar. Derrick and Rocky stood together in front of their family and friends, the estate quiet around the gathering, the canopy overhead.
They married there under the trees, two grooms in the Russian River Valley, the chairs filled with the people who had made the trip to Guerneville to be with them.

“You can't go wrong with these guys.”
After the ceremony came the walk through the grounds. The Stavrand sits on nearly six acres in Guerneville, its orchard trees dating back to the 1920s and its redwood groves threaded through the estate, enough variety in one place to move through family groupings without anyone going far.
Derrick and Rocky took their couple portraits along the garden paths and under the trees, then brought the whole group together, the forest holding the frame behind everyone.
Dinner came as the light went, served on the property with the redwoods darkening past the tables. Toasts went around, and Derrick and Rocky sat close through them.
Lucky Devils Band played the evening live, and the party stayed on the estate well into the night. They cut their cake from Sweet C's Cakeshoppe, and the weekend they had built for themselves in the Russian River Valley carried on around them.
“We loved our wedding planner Angelina. She is incredibly easy to work with and very flexible with helping us think through the whole event, even things that weren't technically in her scope. You can't go wrong with these guys.”
