Marianna and Alex's oceanfront Airbnb minimony in Jenner was twelve guests on a deck above the Pacific at Villa Vista at Casa Panama in May 2022. They rented the whole house on the Sonoma Coast, set the ceremony on the wide deck facing the water, and kept the day close to the people who mattered most.
The morning was slow and unhurried at the house, the ceremony was on the deck with the ocean behind them, and the day ended with the two of them out at Goat Rock for portraits as the sun dropped toward the water.
Marianna's brother set out an early lunch for everyone while hair and makeup ran through the middle of the day, the family settling into the rental around them. By early afternoon Marianna was in her dress, and the two of them had their time together before the guests arrived.
Outside, the deck came together for the ceremony, rows of chairs facing the water, six small centerpieces set out, and a table of custom mugs waiting as keepsakes for the twelve who came.

The ceremony was on the large deck at the edge of the property, the open Pacific behind it. Lili Freitas officiated. Alex walked in first with his mom, then the flower girl, and Marianna came down on her father's arm to Explosions in the Sky's "Your Hand In Mine", the two of them meeting at the end of the aisle to finish the walk together.
The guests were seated close, a single curved row split down the middle, family on either side. The water and the coastline did the rest of the work behind them.
“They made sure we had a bit of time to ourselves to take in the moment.”
After the ceremony came family portraits on the deck and around the house, then the two of them slipped away for photos out in the landscape, down to Goat Rock, where the Russian River meets the ocean and harbor seals haul out along the sand from spring through summer. Marianna had asked for pictures out in nature, and the coast delivered: the isthmus of rock, the open water, the light dropping toward sunset.
Villa Vista's wide deck faces the Pacific with nothing blocking the horizon, so the afternoon gave them two entirely different portrait settings. On the deck, the chairs were still arranged from the ceremony, the Sonoma Coast stretching out behind every frame. Down at Goat Rock the river mouth cuts through the sand before it meets the sea, and the seal colony runs along the shore, a detail that makes May portraits on that beach specific to the season in a way that's hard to replicate at other times of year.
Back at the house, a cocktail hour ran on the deck before Marianna's sister-in-law and brother announced the couple in. The two of them spoke, a champagne toast went around from her father to her brother to Alex's parents and his brother, and then everyone sat down to dinner from a private chef.
The cake came out for dessert, a two-tier cake, one layer almond and apricot with raspberry, the other white studded with bittersweet chocolate. As the last of the light went, the two of them headed back out to the coast for a few final photos, the sun setting over the water as the day closed.
“I loved working with Our Little Wedding, especially the day of! They made sure that everything ran smoothly so that my husband and I could enjoy the day to the fullest without worrying about the details. They also really listened to what we wanted out of the day. For example, they made sure that we had a bit of time to ourselves to take in the moment, and they were able to accommodate our request to have some pictures taken in nature, which turned out even better than we could have imagined! Although our wedding was small, it was pretty perfect, and we have some incredible photography to remember it by. Overall highly recommend!”
