Bodega Bay is Sonoma County's other coastline — the one people forget wine country has. Forty minutes west of Santa Rosa, the vineyards give way to dairy hills and then, suddenly, the Pacific: bluffs, coves, and beaches that stretch north toward Jenner where the Russian River meets the sea.

A coastal micro wedding here has a completely different energy from a vineyard one. Wind in the grass, waves below the ceremony, fog that burns off into hard blue afternoons. It's dramatic without trying — and it photographs like nowhere else in the county.

The practical shape of the day: a bluff or beach ceremony (state park sites like Doran Beach and Schoolhouse Beach need permits — we handle them), then dinner somewhere warm with a view of the harbor. Bodega Bay Lodge is the anchor venue on the coast; Timber Cove, up the road toward Jenner, does clifftop drama better than anywhere in Northern California.
