Their Dog Greeted the Guests at Viansa Vineyard, and the Team Built the Day in a Week

Getting Ready at Viansa

Vanda Floral Design had the arrangements ready. The team had everything staged and confirmed in the days leading up, which, given the compressed timeline, meant the morning itself was calm.

Viansa sits on a hilltop above the Sonoma Valley, its Tuscan-inspired architecture framed by vineyard rows on every side. The ivy-covered courtyard was set for the ceremony. The dog was already on property, positioned near the entrance, the detail that would end up in every toast and every text message home.

Viansa's suites gave Rebecca and Ryan separate spaces to get ready while the florist placed the arrangements around the courtyard. The winery's hilltop position means the Sonoma Valley unfolds below in every direction, vineyard rows, open hillsides, the sky above the estate walls, and all of it was visible from the windows as the morning moved forward. Outside, the Tuscan arches and the ivy were exactly as they'd been promised, and everything was in place before the first guest arrived.

The Ivy Courtyard at Viansa

Rev. Rose Barboza officiated the ceremony in Viansa's ivy-covered courtyard, one of the more recognizable ceremony settings in Sonoma, with the winery's rolling hills and vineyard visible past the estate walls. Rebecca and Ryan's closest family and friends were in the chairs. Their dog was at the entrance when guests arrived, which is the kind of detail that isn't planned so much as it just happens and becomes the thing everyone mentions afterward.
