Sabrina and Wilson's adobe mission vineyard wedding at Cline Family Cellars was 21 guests at the historic Adobe Mission in Sonoma in September 2022, a late-morning ceremony under the eucalyptus with lunch to follow.
The day ran in one easy arc, getting ready on the grounds, vows by the mission with everyone gathered close, then a buffet under the trees that carried straight through toasts, cake, and dancing into the afternoon.
Hair and makeup worked through Sabrina's look on the Cline grounds while her dress waited nearby, and the bouquet and boutonniere came in from the florist. The welcome bar was already set with strawberry-raspberry lemonade and cucumber water for the guests who would start arriving before noon.
By late morning the twenty-one of them were on the property, drinks in hand, waiting for the ceremony to begin at the mission.
Lili Freitas officiated the ceremony at the Adobe Mission, the small stucco chapel ringed with eucalyptus trees, landscaped gardens, and the lotus ponds that give that corner of the property its hush. Sabrina and Wilson said their vows with their twenty-one guests gathered in close, near enough to hear every word.
As the ceremony ended, trays of hors d'oeuvres began to go around, coconut prawns, filet of beef on Dijon crostini, a wild-mushroom pizzetta, while the couple stepped away for photos.

“Vows at the Adobe Mission, twenty-one guests gathered close under the eucalyptus.”
Portraits happened around the property afterward, working through the family groupings and the couple's own portraits with the gardens and the adobe walls behind them. The site carries its history openly: Cline's grounds are also home to the California Missions Museum, where a full set of scale models of all twenty-one California missions is kept on display, saved from a 1939 exposition auction and held together on the property ever since.
Sabrina and Wilson had the run of it, the eucalyptus, the ponds, the mission walls, for as long as the light held.
Lunch was a buffet served with warm sourdough and sweet-cream butter, a Napa Valley greens salad, roasted root vegetables, rosemary potatoes, sage-butter pesto raviolis, braised short ribs, and sliced tri-tip, while the twenty-one guests settled in at the tables under the trees.
Toasts went around, and then the couple's own cake was cut and served to the room alongside cheesecake bars and mini strawberry shortcakes with coffee. The dancing followed, and the small crowd stayed on through the early afternoon before the day wound down.
